Minimalist Manicure Ideas For 2025
If you are a manicure minimalist, here are some 2025 trends that are simple but modern. Try them at home or take this list with you next time you get a professional manicure. (One of the nail polish brands included in this post is very popular at spas, but you can also buy their long-lasting nail polishes to use at home).

1. The 2025 Minimalist Manicure: Trending Shapes
While your nail shape really depends on your personal preference, nail bed shape, and lifestyle, the current trends lean towards:
- short squoval (rounded square)
- medium oval nails
- almond-shaped nails
Pair one of these shapes with one of the designs/colors below, and you’ll have yourself a modern minimalist manicure!
2. Minimalist Nail Designs For 2025
If you’re looking for DIY manicures or spa manicures, here are some designs that are simple but look luxurious…
Soft French Manicure
The traditional French Manicure is a versatile classic that you can wear all year long. This year, you’ll notice that it has softened. Instead of high-contrast colors, you’ll see semi-sheer pinks and nudes over white.
I had this French manicure done at Sundays nail salon in New York City using their L.01 (powder pink) and No.01 (pure white).

Try this look at home or at your local salon with Dazzle Dry’s semi-sheer pale pink or warm nude. (In case you haven’t tried Dazzle Dry, it’s a non-toxic, quick-drying nail polish.) For a slightly brighter pink, try Londontown’s Lakur Magnolia Haze.
Blurred French Manicure
For an even softer approach, try a blurred French manicure where the lines between pink and white are barely discernible (an ombre effect). This Who What Wear article explains how to achieve this blurred look at home.
Textures
If you’re getting a gel manicure, you can ask for a texture created with a 3-D gel or acrylic powder in the same color as your polish. The latest trend is sweater textures.
3. Quiet Luxury Nails
If you haven’t heard of the quiet luxury trend, it’s an aesthetic that focuses on understated elegance, neutral colors, and quality over quantity. This year, you’ll see this trend in manicures, too.
The quiet luxury manicure (also known as “your nails but better”) requires a semi-sheer or sheer nail polish that is very similar to the color of your nail bed. Think of it as a subtle blush, bronzer, or highlighter, but for your nails.
Try Dazzle Dry’s Chiffon Moment, a sheer taupe.
The emphasis is on very healthy-looking nails with a glossy or milky finish. The best part is that they look good with any outfit.
4. Iridescent Finishes
Iridescent, chrome, pearl, and other shimmery finishes are popular for the minimalist manicure in 2025, as they add an interesting detail without any effort. I’m wearing Essie’s For The Twill of It, which looks purple or green or gray depending on your angle!

If you’re looking for a more subtle iridescent nail polish, try this Semi-Sheer White, which has a hint of blue.
5. Earthy Colors
This fall and winter, you’ll see plenty of earthy colors like browns, rusts, and oranges.
Terracotta/Cinnamon
If warm colors work for your skin tone, wear terracotta, rust, or warm browns, especially in the fall. Try Olive and June’s JJ (cinnamon brown) or Dazzle Dry’s burnt orange.
Mocha
Remember Pantone’s Color of the Year? Mocha continues to be popular and is a nice neutral color, so you don’t have to worry about your nails clashing with your outfit. Try Olive & June’s Coconut Shimmer, Essie’s Crochet Away or Dazzle Dry’s Your Nails But Better.
6. Dark Colors
In fall and winter, pull out those dark, moody colors like brown, purple, navy, and burgundy.
Chocolate
Chocolate has been one of the most popular colors over the past few years, and it’s continuing to dominate fashion into 2026. Try Dazzle Dry’s chocolate plum.
Purple
Purple is also trending in fashion this fall and winter, especially in dark or dusty tones. Try Olive & June’s Cardigan or Dazzle Dry’s deep plum. I’m wearing Essie’s Smokin’ Hot.

Burgundy
Burgundy is a fall and holiday classic, and looks beautiful on long or short nails. Try Dazzle Dry’s deep wine red (cream finish).
Navy
Navy is another dark neutral that is trending for minimalist manicures in 2025. Try Dazzle Dry’s deep inky blue.

Me too! I’ve had Dazzle Dry pedicures that have lasted over a month – for manicures, they only last about a week, but that’s more than many other brands. I wash my hands all day! Let me know if you try it! xo Nipa
I prefer a DIY approach with my nails so I love that minimalist nails are so popular right now. Light pink is always chic- Iโll have to try Dazzle Dry.
