Flat Sandals I’m Wearing All Summer

After our puppy turned five pairs of my shoes into chew toys, I realized that I needed to buy some new flat sandals for summer. I bought four pairs, and have two more that I’ve been wearing at home and on trips. These are the sandals that I’m locking up so that our pup can’t snack on them…

Everyday Casual Flats

I have to admit, I didn’t love my first pair of Birkenstocks as the footbed felt hard, and the cork insole on that pair got dirty quickly. (That was over 10 years ago).

But then I found this Arizona Big Buckle style at my local DSW. The wipeable leather insoles feel softer and more comfortable right out of the box. You can buy these in black, white, or cognac at DSW.

They’re also available in Olive Green, which are a perfect transition-to-fall color.

You’ll find them in black with gold buckles at Bloomingdales. They also have bright colors like pink, beige, or green.

I’ve been wearing these on moderate walking days, and they’ve felt really good on my feet. The adjustable straps help to get a nice snug fit with the option to loosen up on a hot (feet swelling) day.

All Day Walking Sandals

Earlier this summer, my daughter and I took a trip to Orlando including three days at Disney World. I wore my sneakers the first day, but between the heat and the downpours, they felt pretty uncomfortable. So on the second day, I wore these Teva Tirra sandals which have arch support, a cushioned footbed, and a non-skid sole. The recycled plastic straps were adjustable and quick to dry.

This is my second pair of Teva Tirra sandals. I bought my first pair five years ago (in light blue) and they’ve been my go-to sandals for summer walks, beach days, and vacations. I wash them in cool soapy water and they still look fairly new.

Double Strap Flats

Cognac brown (or caramel or warm brown) has become a fashion favorite lately. It looks gorgeous with white, denim, sage green, and navy in summer. It also works with all the darker fall colors like burgundy, brown, black, and dark green.

I’ve wanted to add some cognac accessories to my closet so I picked up these Double Strap Sandals at Madewell. They’re similar to my Birkenstocks but a little less chunky, so I prefer them for my summer dresses and skirts.

If cognac isn’t your color, these flat summer sandals also come in olive, ecru, and black, and also in a fun grommet-studded version.

Silver Sandals

The biggest bargain of my sandal shopping was this pair of silver sandals (technically they have a 1/2″ heel but they feel like flats!) I needed a pair of dressy shoes that I could pack for my trips and since I knew I would only wear them once, I didn’t want ones that took up a lot of space. I wore these on a mom’s night out and they were just perfect.

Full disclosure, I’ve never bought GAP shoes before so I don’t know how long they’ll last, but they were exactly what I needed for my Orlando trip. They’d also be great for outdoor events or as backup shoes for your high heels.

A Pop Of Color

I bought these flat summer sandals a few years ago, and hesitated over the color, but they turned out to be just the pop of pink that I needed for my summer outfits. Tory Burch does have some other flats in pink like these Miller Flats, these Sport Slides, and these Buckle Slides.

Pool Flip-Flops

And last but not least, these are my favorite flip-flops. I took these to Orlando with me too. They’re more supportive than basic flip-flops, and have a comfortable contoured footbed which made the long walk to the pool much more comfortable!
