My Favorite Affordable Brands For Linen Clothing
Linen is a breathable, hypoallergenic, and moisture-wicking fabric, so it’s perfect for a hot summer’s day. These are some of my favorite brands that make affordable but high-quality, easy-care linen clothing.

Athleta – Easy Care
Most of my favorite linen clothing is from Athleta. I have two of their Cabo linen shorts – I’ve worn and washed them frequently over the past few years. They are labeled machine wash and dry, but I tend to hang mine as they dry fairly quickly.

Athleta has updated the Cabo line and now calls it the Retreat collection. The Retreat Mid-Rise Shorts are pull-on style with a 4″ inch inseam, small zippered pockets, and a relaxed fit. They are very flattering if you are curvy like I am.
I also just bought the Retreat Linen High Rise Wide Leg Pant (currently at the stores as I took advantage of the free hemming service). I have the original Cabo pants too, but the Retreat has a more flattering shape and cute slits at the hem.
Both pant styles are available in Regular, Tall, and Petite sizes, including XXS-3X.
Athleta also has a relaxed Retreat Linen Shirt that you could order in the same color as your shorts or pants to create a matching set.
Banana Republic – Elevated Casual Style
For linen clothing that is more refined, tailored, and crisp, take a look at Banana Republic. (Note that their linen clothing is only labeled machine washable, so I never put my Banana Republic linen clothing in the dryer).
I have the Everday Linen Shirt, which comes in Regular, Tall, and Petite (I’m wearing the 4P). It has a fitted shape and is just the right length for tucking into dress pants.
For a casual layer to take the edge off an air-conditioned room, take a look at the Open Weave Linen Sweater. It’s a nice third piece for summer as it is light and airy sweater to wear over a tank top. (If you’re not familiar with the third piece rule, it’s the idea that adding a third piece to a top and bottom finishes the look and makes it more stylish).

J.Crew – Pretty Details
If you love embroidery, ruffles, eyelet, and other sweet details, you’ll love the current J.Crew linen collection.
I’m wearing the Ruffle Trim Button-Up Shirt in size small. It’s a fitted short-sleeved shirt with tiny ruffles at the neck and sleeves. It’s no longer available but there are lots of new styles that are super cute!

Take a look at this Embroidered Linen Pant and these Eyelet Linen Shorts.
Calsonยฎ (Nordstrom) – Casual Linen And Linen Blends
Calsonยฎ is a Nordstrom-made brand that uses 100% linen as well as linen blends. I have this Linen Blend Button Up Shirt button up shirt that is softened with rayon. The pink is no longer offered, but you’ll find a few other colors and patterns.
If you are looking for a short-sleeved version, take a look at the Short Sleeve Shirt.

P.S. My sandals are Tory Burch’s Miller Cloud Sandals. You can read all about it here!
Madewell – Wide Range Of Styles
Madewell’s sizing includes Petite, Regular, Tall, and Plus with both fitted and relaxed styles.
This Drawstring Slip Skirt is a nice change from the voluminous skirts we’ve been seeing lately.
This Button Up Top is a cute, cropped relaxed shell style.
These straight pants are a nice alternative to shorts.
Talbots – Tropical Colors – 40 + Style
I haven’t shopped at Talbots for many years, but for those of you who love tropical colors, this may become your favorite brand for linen clothing!
Take a look at this Striped Linen Shirt and these Linen Pants come in fun bright colors.
If you prefer softer colors and shades, take a look at the Haven Well Within Linen Collection.
