Vegamour GRO+ Advanced System Review

October 11, 2024January 31, 2025 Updated onJanuary 31, 2025 Beauty

A few months ago, I noticed that I was losing more hair than usual. I was planning to buy the Vegamour GRO serum I had used last year when Vegamour reached out to me to try out their brand new formula; GRO+ Advanced. For the past six weeks, I have been using Vegamour’s new GRO+ Advanced shampoo, conditioner, and hair serum. Here’s what I’ve found…

Disclosure: Vegamour sent me their GRO+ Advanced shampoo, conditioner, and hair serum to use (#gifted). This is my honest review and actual results. Please note, that there are many causes for hair loss and your results may not be the same as mine.

How I Used The Vegamour GRO+ Advanced System

I started using Vegamour GRO+ Advanced shampoo and conditioner 2-3 times per week. As per the instructions, I kept the shampoo in for one minute, and the conditioner for two minutes, before rinsing each one. Every morning, I also divided a dropperful of the serum around my scalp and massaged it in. My hair was feeling thin overall, but I was particularly concerned about an area near my left temple that was starting to look sparse, so I put a little extra serum there. Here’s what my hair looked like just before I started:

Did The GRO+ Advanced System Work?

Within two weeks, I noticed I was cleaning less hair from my shower. When I went to my hair salon this week, I asked my stylist and longtime friend to comment on my hair (without telling her what I was doing differently). She said that she noticed a lot of new growth.

I’m also seeing that the sparse area around my temple is filling in. (I had similar results a year ago when I used the original Vegamour GRO serum but it took a little longer).

The Differences Between GRO And GRO+ Advanced

According to Vegamour, the GRO system results in “thicker, fuller, healthier looking hair in as soon as 90 days” whereas the GRO+ Advanced system is “clinically proven to increase hair density and reduce shedding in three to four months”. You can find more details in this blog post by Vegamour.

Both systems are vegan, cruelty-free, and color-safe. GRO + Advanced was developed by two board-certified dermatologists Dr. Neera Nathan and Dr. Afton Cobb, who wanted to create a formula to reduce hair shedding.

I saw results more quickly with the GRO+ Advanced serum than I did with the GRO serum (which I used for 2 months before I noticed any changes). I also found the GRO+ Advanced serum to be lighter – I don’t feel any residue after I apply it to my scalp.

The GRO+ Advanced system is more expensive than the GRO system but in my experience, the new products produced results more quickly.

Scrolling through my own Instagram page made me wo Scrolling through my own Instagram page made me wonder if I should change my style back to a bob. I thought I looked more polished, the way I should look as a creator.

So I asked in a poll, and so many friends told me to leave it as is. And I realized that IRL I actually like it longer and naturally wavy. It just felt messy on social media because I'm so used to seeing perfectly styled dos.

So I'm going with messy, until the fall. I'm keeping summer easy, whether it's a tee dress and sandals, a ponytail, or a Reel with an unexpected visitor.

That's my summer dress code. What's yours?
