7 Rustic Fall And Winter Decor Ideas

Our house is a renovated farmhouse, so it lends itself to rustic decor. I often find my home decor at craft festivals, garden stores, and independent stores, but I’ve also found several online options. My goal is to give our house a cozy festive feel, especially for the fall and holiday season. Whether you live in a farmhouse or are embracing the cottagecore movement, here are some rustic fall and winter decor ideas for you…

1. Dried Flowers And Branches

I have a tendency to forget our plants and then frantically over-water them so I am very happy in the fall when dried accents are in season! I picked up this arrangement from our local grocery store, but if you’re shopping online, take a look at this Dried Ruby Silk Grass from Bloomist or these these Dried Everlasting Flowers from Target.com.

My pitcher is Mud Pie’s Pour Stoneware Pitcher. You can also use a metal pitcher, milk can, or large mason jar to give your arrangement that country feel.

Hint: Start with brown and white stems. Add orange and yellow accents for Thanksgiving, then switch them for red, and gold if you celebrate Christmas. Take out the red for New Year’s Eve. You can spray some of the branches with gold spray paint, or add this Natural Twig Branch Light for extra sparkle.

3. Baskets And Rope Accents

Baskets are an inexpensive, practical way to add that rustic look to your fall and winter decor. We use large baskets in our mudroom to store winter hats and gloves. I use smaller ones in my bathroom cupboard to keep my toiletries organized. We have several tabletop baskets for food and decor.

One of my favorites is my Madras Oval Basket from World Market. It is the perfect size for crackers, slices of bread, or mini pumpkins for Thanksgiving dinner.
