Fall Foliage In the Northeast

If you have a chance to visit Northeast in October and early November, grab your camera as the fall foliage is gorgeous! We are just starting to see the leaves change here in Upstate, NY but last weekend we took a quick trip to Vermont where the colors had peaked. Our friends were out of town and let us stay at their gorgeous home which had a backdrop of the mountains. We also did a morning hike in Underhill State Park and even though some of us (ahem) didn’t make it to the peak, the view was just beautiful.

My Travel Outfit

I didn’t pack a lot of clothes, as we were only there a few days, but this is the outfit I wore (for longer than I care to admit).

My sweatshirt is the Rene Sweatshirt from Amour Vert (I bought it after I wrote this post!) It has currently sold out but their Stinson Dream Knit Top has a similar twist front detail.

My pants are the Stellar Trouser from Athleta. These are my go-to pants for traveling as they have a nice amount of stretch, never wrinkle and wash beautifully. They also have plenty of pockets so I can be fairly hands-free. I hadn’t planned to hike in them but we had a last-minute change in plans and I was so grateful that the pockets keep my iPhone snug while I scrambled down rocks. Athleta doesn’t seem to be making this particular style right now, but they do have a similar Stellar Tight and Stellar Flared Trouser available.

I wore my favorite ASICS sneakers which kept my feet happy throughout the weekend whether we were walking, climbing, or just sitting in the car for hours! (If you need new sneakers, take a look at this post for some tips!)

I’m going to keep this blog post short as a picture is worth a thousand words, right? But here are 6 of my favorite scenes from our trip to Vermont. As much as I wanted to keep taking more, I did stop myself to take in the scenery and enjoy the moments.

…And In Upstate New York

We came back to falling leaves in our own yard, so I’ve been trying to get out and enjoy the colors (before my husband shreds all of the leaves with his mower!) The morning light is beautiful, so I’ve been trying to save my coffee for a few minutes after I take the kids to school, so that I can drink it outside.
