5 Summer Micro-Trends You Can Wear Now And Later

1. Two-tone Chains

Not sure if you prefer gold or silver? Pearls or chainlinks? I can never decide, so one of my favorite summer micro-trends is the half-and-half chain. Before we get bundled up again this winter, try this micro-trend in a necklace, bracelet, or anklet. Here are a few options:

My version of two-tone jewelry combines pearls and a gold chain. This is a Madewell’s Freshwater Pearl Chain necklace, currently available at Nordstrom, and very affordable. I love that it’s interesting enough to wear alone but delicate enough to layer with other necklaces. It also has a 3″ extender so it gives you plenty of room to adjust the length to your needs.

2. Bag With Detachable Pouch

I’m always looking for the perfect new handbag to keep my essentials organized, so I was really excited to see these crossbody bags with detachable pouches! The pouch is the perfect size for keys, sanitizer, or lipstick so you don’t have to dig through your purse when you’re in a hurry!

4. Crochet Details

Crochet details have been popping up in dresses, handbags, sweaters, and even shoes. I’m wearing the Pointelle Knit Wrap Top from & Other Stories. I absolutely loved the style, but think it would look better in someone with slimmer arms. They also have a Crochet Wrap Mini Dress which would be really cute for a party or dinner out.

5. Zebra Print Pieces

The leopard print seems to always dominate the fashion scene, but my favorite animal print is the zebra print. You’ll find zebra print clothing and accessories in the traditional black and white, or in a myriad of colors (I guess zebras need an update too?) You’ll also see some stylized zebra prints (mixed with tie-dye, swirls, or other patterns).
