5 Simple Eileen Fisher Dresses And Skirts
Eileen Fisher has been making timeless, eco-friendly, luxury clothing since 1984. If you like modest, body-friendly, classic pieces, you’ll appreciate her minimalist aesthetic. The Eileen Fisher brand is a Certified B Corp which means that her company meets the high standards in sustainable manufacturing practices. Last year, I made my first Eileen Fisher purchase; a pair of black wedge boots that I wore constantly during fall and winter because they were so comfortable. This year, I wanted to stock up on some pre-fall staples, so I bought several dresses and skirts from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2022. Here’s my review of 5 Eileen Fisher dresses and skirts…

Sizing Tips For Eileen Fisher Dresses And Skirts
Simply put, you’ll need to size down in Eileen Fisher, I’m just under 5’4″ and around 127lbs with a pear-shaped figure. When I shop at stores like Athleta, Madewell, and J.Crew, I tend to buy tops and dresses in XS or 2. For bottoms, or for brands like Anthropologie, Amour Vert, Banana Republic (that tend to run a little smaller) I wear S, 4, or 4P. For Eileen Fisher dresses and skirts, however, I preferred the XXS! If you’re smaller than I am, look out for her petite options. I didn’t see any petite sizes at Nordstrom, but you’ll find a petite section on the Eileen Fisher website.
Sleeveless V-Neck Dress
I’ve been looking for a sleeveless stretch dress to wear from the end of summer into early fall. I really liked the shape of this Eileen Fisher Sleeveless V-Neck Dress. If you have a belly or are pear-shaped, the bottom of this dress is generously cut without adding too much volume to your lower half. It comes in Marine (bright blue), Navy, and Black. The V-neck is shallow so you’ll be able to wear your favorite scarf or necklaces without a plunging neckline. It’s made from comfortable, sustainable 95% Tencelยฎ lyocell, and 5% elastane fabric.

Mock Neck Tie Waist Dress
I’ve also been looking for a little black dress and I think this Mock Neck Tie Waist Sleeveless Dress is the one! The mock-neck is a little more versatile than a turtle-neck, and more flattering if you have a softer jawline. The length is modest but not frumpy. The tie-front gives you the option of adjusting the waist.
Wear this in the summer with mules or sandals. Later in the fall, add boots and either a long cardigan or a cropped blazer.
You may also like the Tie Waist Dress which has a similar shape without the mock-neck.
Prefer a shorter style? Try the Ribbed Mock Neck dress. (If you’re tall you can wear this as a tunic with wide leg pants).

The High Waist Midi Pencil Skirt
We haven’t seen very many pencil skirts lately so the High Waist Midi Pencil Skirt caught my eye. I liked that it is available in Dark Brownstone (brown) which makes a nice change from the typical blacks, olives, and grays that we see in the fall. Because this is more fitted, I preferred the XS.
Photo coming soon, but in the meantime, I’ll wear this now with a white cropped t-shirt and sandals, and later in the fall with booties and a cropped cardigan.
P.S. If you’re not sure how to style brown, take a look at How To Wear Brown This Fall & Winter. Dark brown has been making a comeback in recent years and will continue to do so this fall.
Flare Midi Skirt
If you prefer a looser style skirt, take a look at the Flare Midi Skirt. I’m wearing the XS which is a little big on me. I do like the weight of the fabric (perfect for cooler summer days or early fall) and the pockets!
Wear this with a fitted top, either a cropped tank or a t-shirt that you can tuck in. In the fall, wear it with a buttoned-up cropped cardigan or a t-shirt and cropped blazer.

P.S. I’m wearing my Sarah Flint Grear sandals in a past-season color. There are lots of new color options available this year.
Slit Organic Cotton Aline Midi Skirt
If you want something in between the pencil skirt and full skirt, take a look at the Slit Organic Cotton Aline Midi Skirt. I didn’t buy this one as it wasn’t available in the color and size that I wanted, but I love the deconstructed hem, the simple silhouette, and the modest side slit.
Wear it now with a tucked-in tank, and later with a tie-front blouse or cropped sweater.
