3 Hair Accessories For The Hairstyle Challenged
Despite my love for fashion and beauty, I have always been a little hairstyle challenged. It’s partly because I used to have super fine hair that didn’t respond well to heat, hair products or styling. It’s also because I always choose health over appearance, and the products and styling tools of the past were so damaging to hair. Now that we have better technology and product formulas, I have started to color and style my hair. Since my styling skills are a bit lacking, I often use hair accessories to help me look a little more put together. If you are looking for a simple style and some cute hair accessories, here are three versatile options (none of which are the scrunchies or pearl barrettes that you’ve been seeing everywhere)…
The Easiest Style
One of my favorite hairstyles is

Then comes the fun part; the accessories…
The Flower Clip
I picked up this Tasha flower clip last weekend at

It doesn’t seem to be online, so look out for it in your local Nordstrom. If you don’t have one near you, this set of Tasha 2-Pack Crystal Hair Clips is similar and is available online.
Enamel Barrette
If you like a little color for your hair, try an enamel barrette. I thought this L.Erickson ‘Atelier’ Enamel Barrette was such an unusual shape and such a sweet color. You could also wear this just over your ear, on one side, but I prefer it in the back where it doesn’t compete with my earrings.

For an enamel hair clip option, take a look at this Anthropologie Geometric Hair Clip Set which will add some colorful touches to a simple style.
Circle Acrylic Barrette
I’ve seen these circle resin hair clips everywhere, but really liked the unusual colors in this Madewell version.

This one is slightly different color and available online.
J.Crew’s Square Circle Barrette In Tortoise is similar, but with a twist!
Hair Accessories On My Wishlist
This Tribe Aliveโข Hair Pin is so unique and made from ethically sourced materials.
I also like the unusual shape of this Ficcare Maximus Silky Hair Clip which comes in 9 beautiful colors.
This Tory Burch Reversible Silk Skinny Scarf is so pretty. For simple ways to style a skinny scarf, read this post!
Now your turn! What’s your go-to hair accessory and style?

This post is a part of a blogger Link Up hosted by Julie of This Main Line Life. If you are a blogger, and would like to join us, you’ll find details here.

This is very really unique helpful information. keep it up. Thank you so much!
Thank you, Martina! xo Nipa
I love these clips! The circle one is my favorite – I however never wear any clips in my hair.
Hi Ashley, I never used to either, but I started seeing so many cute options, that I had to try them out! xo Nipa
I love the circle barrette! I was just telling my daughters I want to start giving them a different hairstyle every day
Hi Victoria, My daughter is always asking me to do her hair but I can’t do much more than ponytails and ballerina buns. I guess I’d better find some You Tube tutorials!! xo Nipa
These are cute hair clips. I especially like that circular one.
Thanks, Julie. That’s a popular one! I hope they bring back that color online. xo Nipa
You looked gorgeous with this hair style. The circle clip is my favorite!!!
Yashin
Hi Yashin, Thank you, I’ve been wearing the circle clip a lot! xo Nipa
Great accessories!! I think it is hard to figure out how to put my hair back especially as I get older and not look too childish, those barrettes look great – youโre hair is getting so long – very pretty !
Thank you, Chris. I agree! I think the trick is to find sophisticated colors and subtle styles. I’ve skipped a lot of the bright headbands, pearl barrettes and scrunchies as they made me feel like I had borrowed them from my daughter! xo Nipa
Oh, there are so many pretty hair accessories!
I’d love to hear your new hair routine.
Hi Susan, I was going to include my new routine in this post, but it was starting to become a novel, so I’ll sharing it in a future post! xo Nipa
I love your suggestions – I’m all for easy hair styling and I, too, am hairstyle challenged. Mine mostly goes up into a pony but sometimes I do up and down. I’ve gotten into the hair accessories more recently and one that I love is a scrunchie that gives you the look of a scarf tied around the pony. There are so many neat accessories out there to look at and I really like the circle acrylic. I also love that Tribe Alive Hair pin. I think your link for the Ficcare Maximus Silky Hair Clip is the wrong one. It keeps taking me to the silk scarf (which I think is just gorgeous). The wedding sounds like a wonderful event to experience and it wore me out just reading your intro about how little time you actually have for yourself :/ I love the first up/down hair picture of you – you’re gorgeous!
Ruth
Hi Ruth, Thank you so much for your sweet comments. I did fix that link – so it should work now. I think I wore my hair in a ponytail for about 8 years straight (I taught martial arts and it was a part of the “uniform”) so I love this subtle change!!! xo Nipa
