1 Classic Red Coat, 3 Months of Style

Did you do a lot of shopping during Black Friday weekend? I had planned to sleep in on Black Friday, but my husband forgot to turn off his alarm, so I was up at the crack of dawn! After sipping my Nespresso and watching the sunrise, I couldn’t resist taking a peek at the online sales.  For the most part, I bought what was on the list I created for my What To Buy On Black Friday post, but there were a few other bargains that just seemed too good to pass up.  One of those bargains was this Italian Melton Car Coat, a classic red coat from Banana Republic (I bought it at half price):

Red Coat

It’s a lightweight coat (unlined) so it’s perfect for a warmer climate, or if you’re not going to be outside for too long.  The fabric is an Italian wool blend, and it’s beautifully made.  I especially love the stitching around the collar.

December: Classic Red Coat + Dress + Black Boots

For holiday parties in December, I almost always reach for my little black dress and boots.

Red Coat + Black Dress + Snakeskin Clutch + Kitten Heel Boots

If you prefer a printed dress, try an animal print wrap dress and over-the-knee boots.

For a more formal event, wear a lace dress and pumps. Your red coat will help you make a grand entrance.

January: Classic Red Coat + Jumpsuit + Heels

On New Year’s Eve, a black jumpsuit would be gorgeous with gold heels and a fun clutch! Wear red lipstick to finish your look.

After the party has ended, switch to a cozier jumpsuit,  low-heeled booties, and a wool scarf.

February: Classic Red Coat + Printed Top + Pants

At work, wear a silk blouse with slim wool pants and snakeskin boots with your red coat.

Red Coat + Floral Tank + Jeans

For date night, especially on Valentine’s Day, switch to a silk blouse and coated jeans. Add heart earrings or a pendant.

Every day, from now until spring, there are so many options for your red coat!

If you’re running errands, wear your favorite black leggings with a striped t-shirt and comfortable boots.

  1. I have a red coat and you’ve reminded me that I’ve not worn it all this winter! I really must get it out. It’s more of a coatigan really and I wore it to death last year. I love Banana Republic, such a shame they don’t have them her in the Uk any more 🙁
