What To Buy During The 2021 Black Friday Sales
*Updated Friday, November 26th, 2021*
The 2021 Black Friday Sales started early this year, as retailers work to minimize shipping delays and shortages. Some are offering sales that will last through Cyber Monday, others are changing their deals daily. Shopping can be overwhelming especially now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday have merged into one week-long shopping frenzy, so don’t miss my 5-step shopping strategy at the end of this post.
But first, here are some items that typically go on sale during Thanksgiving weekend. Whether you’re looking for gifts or buying for yourself, here are some fashion, beauty, home, health, and hobby items that you may want to add to your shopping list to buy during the 2021 Black Friday Sales…

Health & Wellness
If the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that health comes first! Don’t wait for the New Year adopt healthier habits. If you need a reminder to move more, fitness trackers often go on sale during Black Friday and Cyber Monday so do your research now to figure out the model that you want. Then, all you have to do during Black Friday weekend is find the best price.
Fitbit watches are already on sale at Amazon and are fun fashion/activity watches. If you’re a more serious athlete, look out for Garmin watch sales. I love both of these watches as they look pretty enough to wear all the time.
If your activewear collection needs an update, it might be a good time to get the Athleta app which will give you early access (11/20/21-11/21/21) to their Black Friday sales. I’m a huge fan, so I’m looking at the Ranier Reflective Tights and the Peak Hybrid Fleece Tights.
Looking for something for walking, lounging, or meditating? I bought these Zella Restore Soft Pocket Leggings during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and they’re currently marked down again for a limited time. They come in 7 colors and look like a cross between a legging and a jogger. My slippers are the Nordstrom Snuggle Plush Faux Fur Slipper and are also currently marked down. My open front wrap is the Athleta piece that I wrote about in Open Front Cardigans, Coats, And Wraps For Fall. (Yes, I bought a second color and have been wearing it with everything!)

Cooking & Baking
Did you do a lot more cooking and baking over the past few years? The 2021 Black Friday Sales are a good time to upgrade your cookware, bakeware, and small kitchen appliances, as these items are often marked down.
If you’ve been hearing about the Always Pan, now is a great time to check it out. You can buy the Always Pan and Perfect Pot Duo for $210 (originally $310). Theyโre also a great gift for cooking enthusiasts! You can read my review of the Always Pan in my 8 Non-Toxic Pans That I Use In My Kitchen.
Need to replace your roaster? All Clad’s Large Stainless Steel Roaster is on Bed, Bath & Beyond’s Black Friday sale. On Friday and Saturday, theyโre offering another 25% off on your purchase (excluding Black Friday specials).
If you are looking for an Air Fryer, the Instantโข Vortexโข 6-Qt. 4-in-1 Air Fryer is on sale for Black Friday at Macy’s.
I’m looking for a replacement for our current blender and considering the Vitamix Explorian Blender or the Ninja Professional Countertop Blender.
If you donโt already have a Nespresso machine, their Coffee And Expresso Machine Set is on sale at Bed, Beth & Beyond. I love my Nespresso, especially on those mornings when I need a latte to-go!
Crafting & Art
Know someone who found their creative side during lockdown? Or someone who is embracing the cottage core (do-it-yourself) movement?
Cricut machines rarely go on sale, except during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. So if you’ve had your eye on one, look on their website or on Amazon for deals. If you don’t need the latest model, the Cricut Explore Air 2 is already on sale. This little machine will allow you to cut over a hundred types of material so that you can make stickers, iron-on decals, paper flowers, cards and so much more.
If you tried to buy a sewing machine last year (like I did) they were pretty tough to find. You’ll have more options now, including this Brother sewing machine that I was finally able to buy last April. It’s a great basic model that is easy to use (even for my eleven-year-old!)
Entertainment
Okay, I may be the only person I know that doesn’t already own Apple Air Pods, but just in case I’m not, you might want to add the New Apple Air Pods Pro to your lists.
Fashion & Beauty
It’s a good time to buy a winter coat, especially if you’ve already seen frost on the ground like we have in Upstate NY! I bought this Bernardo puffer jacket earlier this month from Nordstrom. Their Hooded Quilted Water Repellent Jacket is very similar if you’re looking for a casual winter jacket. The curved shape and compact fill will keep you from looking like a marshmallow!
I also love J.Crew’s coats and jackets. Their 2021 Black Friday Sale has started (code: SHOPEARLY). I have and love their Chateau Parka and Lady Day coats.

Everlane’s Black Friday sale includes their Perform Legging which is currently 50% off! (Clack here for my review of these leggings).
If you are planning to buy that matching pajama set for your family, they’re selling out quickly at Old Navy. I’m pretty sure I can’t persuade my family to adopt that trend, but if I could I’d choose the Blue Trees which will still work for post-Holiday nights! They are currently 50% off!
In addition to buying new clothes, you may want a tool to keep your old ones fresh and wrinkle-free! Consider a handheld steamer. The Hilife Steamer and ConairTurbo Extreme are both highly rated and available at Amazon. I’m keeping both in my cart to see whether they go on sale.
There are plenty of early Black Friday sales for jewelry, accessories, and beauty so if you’re looking for gifts, here are a few suggestions:
Aurate’s 2021 Black Friday sale has already started (with code STOCKED) so if you’re looking for fine jewelry for a gift or for yourself, take a look. I have the Bold Ear Cuff in silver and Zodiac Stud earrings. I have my eye on their Flower Earring Studs with White Diamonds and the Open Link Ring.
If you’re looking for beauty gifts or upgrades for yourself, Ulta’s 2021 Black Friday sale starts on Sunday (11/21/21) and includes deals on CHI ceramic flat irons (I’ve had mine for longer than I care to admit), It make-up brushes, Tarte Cosmetics, and more!
If youโre dressing up for the holidays, pick up some Thickening Dryspun Texture Spray. The 3.6oz bottle is currently on sale.
Looking for a new handbag? Kate Spade’s Pre-Black Friday sale includes options up to 50% off. The Spencer Metallic Wristlet is perfect for a holiday party or night out!
If youโre looking for a classic handbag, take a look at Coachโs Black Friday sale. The Beat Saddle Bag and the Ergo Shoulder Bag are both marked down this weekend.
Tips To Avoid Black Friday Sale Overwhelm!
So how do we all stay sane while shopping during Cyber Week? Here’s my 5-Step plan!
1. Start Early
If you have the time, start browsing early. A lot of retailers are giving us previews so that we know what to expect on Black Friday. Many are offering limited-time sales now. Save yourself some stress by starting early.
2. Make Lists
Start making lists of what you need, so that you don’t get caught up scrolling through bargains for hours on end. I keep my lists in my Reminders app on my iPhone so that I can add to them as ideas pop into my head. I’m actually making two sets of lists: one for holiday gifts, and one for items that I need to replace in our house since our cookware, furniture, and appliances have been working overtime!
3. Know Your Budget
It’s easy to overspend especially when you’re shopping online, so know your budget.
4. Sign Up For Emails
Signing up for emails from retailers may give you early access, extra discounts, or free shipping. Sign up for the retailers that create products for your needs.
5. Limit Your Shopping Time
There’s plenty to do during the next week, so don’t spend all your time shopping. Enjoy your family and friends, by preparing wishlists ahead of time. and giving yourself a time limit.
