Remember when animal prints were reserved for fall looks? Well, that “fashion rule” has been broken in recent years, and left us with some fabulous print options for spring and summer. One of these options is the snakeskin print, which you’ll see in both natural colors and creative ones (pinks, greens, and blues). I’ve been looking for a desk-to-dinner snakeskin print dress for months now, and I finally found it while I was shopping in Chicago. Here’s why I recommend it, how to style it and where to buy it. If it’s not quite right for you, I’ve also included plenty of other options…
Karen Millen’s Snakeskin Print Mini Dress
I was looking for a long sleeved dress because spring is cold and wet, and summer is hot enough for everyone to crank their air conditioning up high. This is Karen Millen’s Snakeskin Print Mini Dress which you can find at her online store, or at departments stores like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. I love the ruffled shoulders and the zipper detail on the front.
Note that she uses U.K. sizing, and the corresponding U.S. sizing may not be what you are used to. My dress is marked U.S. Size 8, but in most U.S. brands, I am a 2 or a 4.
Karen Millen also has a Snakeskin Print Maxi dress if a mini is too short for you.
How To Wear Your Snakeskin Print Dress
Do you have a little black dress that you always reach for because it’s so versatile? Well, your snakeskin print dress can work the same way. Wear it with neutral colors (black, brown or gray), pop colors (pink, blues, greens, oranges or yellows) or pastels (baby blues and pinks.)
Other Dress Options
$$ Banana Republic’s Snake Print Pleated Midi Dress has camisole straps and a flared skirt. Grab a pastel or bright cardigan for cooler nights or air-conditioning. Add a statement necklace or earrings to dress it up.
