Hi Cris, Sounds like you have a routine that works for you! xo Nipa

  1. Some great tips here, Nipa. I have to say that lockdown has not been at all conducive to my morning routine and I’ve found myself mindlessly scrolling through my phone for over an hour in bed, some mornings! I like your idea of setting a timer and I’ve found that the mornings I get straight out of bed and have something planned first thing, I am much better. I also do some form of gentle exercise in the morning which starts me off well too.

Hi Suzanne, I had a few weeks like that, especially when the weather here was just horrible (snow and rain in May!) Love the idea of doing some morning exercise too. I run with our son most days, and he doesn’t like to go until the afternoon, but I would probably benefit from some morning stretching. Have a wonderful week, Suzanne! xo Nipa

  2. These are all amazing tips! Planning my morning the night before is the most helpful thing for me.

Hi Samantha, It took me a LONG time to make it a priority, but it really makes everything better! xo Nipa

I love to get up and exercise, eat my breakfast outside if I can, read a little, then shower and get ready for the day before my kids ever get up- I am lucky though right now I rarely start working before 9:30 and my teenage kids rarely get up before 11. I just love quiet alone time to start the day.

Hi Chris, That sounds lovely! We’re all early risers so our kids are up by 8:00 am! I’ve started to do some of my morning routine with them (eating breakfast outside, running, and sometimes mindfulness.) xo Nipa

These are all fabulous suggestions, Nipa! I need to start giving my face a spritz when I first get up because it really does feel dryer in the morning and you’re right, we do lose moisture overnight. I do keep a water bottle next to the bed but cannot drink water before lunchtime. I’ve started mixing 1/2 and 1/2 cranberry juice/water (don’t love all of the sugar but that little bit of flavor makes water easier to drink). That’s what I have right after I get up. And the list of things to do if you have a minute or 10 is a great thought-provoking segment to remind me that even just a minute two can provide time for reflection or exercise.

Hi Ruth! Have you tried water with lemon? It would give you flavor without the sugar. I also love Nuun tablets, especially when I feel a headache coming on, and I know it’s because I didn’t drink enough water that day. xo Nipa
