Halloween Inspired Outfits You Can Wear All Year

I’m one of those moms who tries to make our Halloween costumes. It’s not because I have amazing sewing skills, but rather that I feel so guilty about buying costumes for just one night! This year, I don’t need to dress up as I’ll be running around the neighborhood with my kids, so I’m passing on my favorite Halloween inspired outfits to you. Catwoman

Faux Leather Leggings are a huge fall trend. Wear them with a cozy Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater and black boots. For Halloween, add a cat mask, and you have yourself a Catwoman costume.

I bought this mask from Michaels. There’s a similar masquerade style one at Amazon. You could wear a cat headband and tail, and add some dramatic cat-eye makeup. I’ve used (and loved) the Tarte Sex Kitten eyeliner which glides on so easily.

Can’t rock the skin-tight pants? Try a black jumpsuit. I love Anthropologie’s Giovanna Halter Jumpsuit which can be dressed up or down (and has some stretch to it, in case we eat too much candy!) To polish off your look try these Kate Spade House Cat Mismatched Linear Earrings.

Witch

For a witch inspired look, you’ll need a long black skirt or dress. This fall, you’ll find plenty of each in stores. My favorites are the Bias Cut Satin Midi Skirt from & Other Stories, Rachel Rachel Roy’s Flocked Velvet Faux Wrap Long Sleeved Dress.

My pointed toe boots are some old Ann Klein ones. Although square toe boots are more in style this year, there are many brands that are making pointed-toe styles. Franco Sarto’s Amsterdam Wedge Bootie and Schutz’s Magalli Pointed Toe Tall Leather Boots are both cute.

Vampire

To transform into a vampire, you’ll need a cape, and a black or red maxi dress (in addition to sharp teeth, of course!)

I love Harlyn’s Cape Sleeve Burnout Maxi Dress which you could wear later for your holiday photos or parties.

It so happens that super long, pointed nails (i.e. Vampire nails) are in style for fall, but for those of us who are constantly washing dishes, they’re not very practical. So I’ve opted for short dark nails in the classic O.P.I. color, Lincoln Park After Dark.

Skulls And Skeletons

While a full skeleton costume might get you strange looks at the grocery store, a few skull icons will make you look chic but tough. (Both are necessary qualities to navigate through my grocery store at noon!)

Ghost

If you’re planning to stay in and have a quiet night, you can always find some cozy white pajamas or plush robe, add a white sheet mask, and call yourself a ghost!
