Embroidery
Once upon a time, I had a closet full of embroidered and beaded clothing. This wasn’t during my “glamorous” New York City years (when I was more likely to be designing and inspecting embroidery than wearing it). It was when I was growing up in Asia, where embellishment is found on everything from loungewear to uniforms. I bought this piece from Lucky Brand, as reminded me of those days. It’s casual enough to wear anywhere, but satisfies the fashionista in me . Since olive and tomato red don’t flatter my skin tone, this is a way to wear them away from my face. If you find that some of the popular fall colors don’t work for your skin tone, look for them in an embroidery.
