Comfortable Thanksgiving Day Outfits

1. Corduroy Skirt + Cropped Cardigan + Ballet Flats
For a polished but comfortable look, try a corduroy skirt with a t-shirt, a cropped cardigan, and ballet flats. (Wear this outfit if you’re going to be in a warm kitchen – you can add the cardigan when you sit down to dinner). I’m wearing LOFT’s Corduroy Midi Skirt in size 2 (also available in Petite and Tall).
You can swap the cardigan for a jacket: try a bubble bomber for a trendy look, or a faux leather jacket for an edgy look. If your skirt is long, the jacket should be cropped to balance the look.

2. Ecru Jeans + Cashmere Sweater + Ankle Boots
Yes, you can wear white after Labor Day, but in my opinion, white jeans look too bright in the fall and winter. I prefer ecru jeans, like these flared jeans that I picked up at a sample sale in New York City. These Paige Ecru Jeans are similar. I’m wearing my ecru jeans with this soft Cashmere Crewneck Sweater in Brown Coffee.
If your jeans are full-length, they’ll look best with pointed-toe boots with a heel.
3. Sweater Dress & Boots
It gets pretty chilly around here by November, so if I’m not cooking, I love pairing a sweater dress with boots. My sweater dress is now sold out, but this Wool & Cashmere Midi Dress is available. My boots are these Waterproof Knee High Boots – I’ve had them for a couple of years and they’re still a favorite!
If you prefer machine-washable sweater dresses, this polyester blend Ribbed Sweater Dress and this cotton Polo Dress are chic options.
4. Floral Print Midi Dress + Kitten Heels
Comfortable floral dresses and kitten heel shoes or boots make classic Thanksgiving Day outfits. They’re also perfect for those family photos. Pick colors from your printed dress to create a coordinated look for the rest of the family.
I tried on this Boho Floral Scarf Print Dress over the summer, but couldn’t justify buying it at full price. You can throw on a navy cardigan on top if you need a warm layer. Add some kitten heels and jewelry to complete the look.
