9 Practical Gift Ideas For Dad
Father’s Day is just a few weeks away. Since many of us have limited gift choices and budgets this year, I thought I’d focus on practical and affordable gift ideas for Dad. And if your state is still under lockdown, all of these can be ordered online. Just double-check the shipping times, so that you can be sure your gift will arrive before June 21st.
Food & Beverage Gift Ideas For Dad
1. Nespresso Coffee And Espresso Maker
An expresso and coffee may help him shake that costly (insert favorite coffee shop here) habit! We love our Nespresso Original Expresso Machine and the Aeroccino Milk Frother. We also love that Nespresso provides bags for you to collect used capsules and mail back to them for recycling.

The coolers aren’t what I would call “affordable” but the beverage containers are.
3. Support His Favorite Local Restaurant
If you’ve been cooking all of your meals for the past few months, then consider take-out for a change. If you already have a special meal planned, consider ordering a dessert from his favorite bakery. Last weekend, my husband and I ventured out early in the morning to pick up danishes from a local bakery. I love to bake, but these were treats that I could never make. We were also so relieved to see that this long-standing bakery had survived the lockdown.
4. Grill Accessories & Thermometer
If he’s a grill-master, then how about some new grill accessories? Since this handy set comes in a case, he’ll always know where to find his tools.
For grilling and cooking, the DOT® Thermometer is one of my favorite kitchen tools. It gives us a quick reading, so it’s handy when I’m grilling something delicate like fish. It has also outlasted many other electronic thermometers that we have tried and tossed.

5. A Hammock
After an amazing meal, give Dad some time to take a nap in a new hammock. We have the traditional L.L. Bean one (this is the updated version) but if you don’t have the trees to support one, you can also buy a hammock with a stand, like this one from Amazon.
6. Running/Activity Watch
If he’s a runner, he’ll appreciate having a running watch to track his training. (My husband and sons use their Garmin Forerunners every day.) If he has a compatible smartphone, he can also scan his texts and see call alerts on his watch.
7. Baseball or Football Gifts

These are some great ideas! I always struggle a bit with things to get my dad for his birthday and father’s day which are only a few weeks apart. I especially like the grill accessories and the yeti beverage holder. My parents are always outdoors in the summer with a fire going in the firepit, or the bbq going or camping down near the beach on their property so either of these would be perfect for him.
