How To Wear Lace This Holiday Season
Lace is a classic for the holiday season, and this year we’re seeing it in a range of styles from casual to formal. Black lace is the most common, but also consider wearing white, red, or dark green. Here’s what’s trending in lace this holiday season, and suggestions for how to wear them…

Lace Dress
A lace dress is classic for cocktail parties and formal events, but you can also wear lace in a more casual setting. Stretch lace with minimal texture tends to look more casual. I wear my mock-neck lace midi dress with heels to dress it up or with a jacket and boots to dress it down. I bought it last year, so it is no longer available, but this Lace Dress is similar (and very affordable).
To keep the focus on your lace dress, wear sleek knee-high boots, ballet flats, or kitten heels. Add a soft shoulder bag for a more casual look or a clutch for an evening look.

If you are looking for a formal gown, I have this gorgeous Scalloped Lace Gown in blue, and it’s currently on sale. (I had to go up to a size 6 in this brand from my usual size 4). I also tried on this beautiful Lace A-Line Gown, but opted for the other one.
Lace Tops
I just bought this gorgeous dark red shirt and love how versatile it is!
If you’re looking for a holiday outfit that is lightweight and cool, take a look at these lace tops. Dress them up with a silk or satin skirt and heels. Dress them down with black jeans or corduroy pants and ankle boots.
Check to see if your lace top comes with a built-in camisole; otherwise, add one to your cart! I’ve had these Ann Taylor camisoles for years, and wear them under sheer blouses.
Lace Bottoms
If you prefer a lace skirt, here are a few options. Add a silk blouse for a warmer day or a cropped, embellished sweater for a cooler one. Add your favorite pumps, a small shoulder bag, and a statement necklace to complete the look.
Will you wear lace this holiday season? Do you already own a lace piece, or are you shopping for one? Let me know in the comments…
