My Summer Sales Picks 2022 Edition

Memorial Day Weekend has arrived and so have the first of the 2022 summer sales! Here are my picks from some of my favorite retailers. If you’re shopping for vacation or just need a wardrobe refresh, take a look. I’ve also snuck in a few kids’ and men’s options if you’re shopping for your family.

Please check the websites for details, but most retailers are offering these prices until May 30th, 2022. If you’re reading this post after Memorial Day Weekend, keep an eye out on your favorites, as they may be marked down again later in the season. For retailers, Memorial Day weekend is the kick-off to summer, so you’ll see more summer sales in 2022.

Athleta: Swimsuits And Active Shorts

Athleta is offering 20% off your purchase with extra savings on swimwear. Their swimwear sells quickly so consider buying sooner rather than later!

I love their mix and match tankini styles so I just ordered a Square Neck Tankini and Clean Full Bottoms to replace an older set that no longer fits me. If you need a swimsuit that is relaxed around your tummy, the Seascape Blousy Tankini is a good option. (Scroll down on their site and you’ll see all of the mix and match options for each piece that you look at.)

If you’re looking for summer shorts for walking, hiking, or just relaxing, take a look at Athleta’s Trekkie North Short. I just ordered a black pair as I love the wide, flat waistband. I have their Run With It shorts, which have a similar waistband, and I really appreciate that it doesn’t add any extra bulk to my belly!

P.S. Did you know that Athleta also makes clothes and swimwear for girls? I’ve bought my daughter several of their leggings (on sale) as most other brands are either too wide or too short for her slim figure. She has also been wearing her Athleta swimsuit for a few years now.

If you’re shopping for a girl, the Reversible Sunset Oasis Bikini Top, Tankini, and Bikini Bottom will give her plenty of mix and match options. If that print isn’t her style, there are plenty of other collections to choose from.

Everlane: Tanks, Tops, And Denim Shorts

I bought Everlane’s Cutaway Tank last year in black. It has maintained its color, shape, and size through many washes, so I may stock up on a few more. My dilemma? Which of the 16 colors/prints to buy. (Prices vary according to color.) P.S. This tank is racer-back bra-friendly.

For a more dressy option, I absolutely love Everlane’s Eyelet Puff Sleeve Top. It includes so many summer trends: puff sleeves, a cropped silhouette, and a fun detail in the back. It also comes in 4 color options. If you have high-waisted bottoms, this may be the top for you!

I’m also looking at Everlane’s A-line Denim Shorts. Have you found that most denim shorts are too short or too straight for your curves? I have, so I’m hoping these work! The A-line shape of these shorts (which means a wider leg opening) should also make your thighs look slimmer.

Club Monaco: Jackets, Tailored Pants, & Dresses For Work

Club Monaco has some tailored pieces for work and special occasions. Their Wide Leg Pants are relaxed but polished. The Twansia dress is a classic desk-to-dinner style with a twist (literally!)

Nordstrom: Sandals, Handbags, And Gifts For Him

Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale lasts longer than most of the 2022 Memorial Day Weekend/summer sales (through June 5th), but items tend to sell out quickly, so grab your favorites now. Some of my favorite categories from this sale are sandals, handbags, and gifts for him (Father’s Day is not too far away!)

If you’re shopping for him, get him pool-ready with these Sport Slides, new Plain Swim Shorts, a t-shirt (my guys wear these), and sunglasses.

If you’ve been seeing Tory Burch’s Miller Cloud Sandals all over social media, now might be the time to buy your own pair. They’re currently on sale in a few different colors.

Dolce Vita’s Paily Slide Sandals have also been popular for special occasion outfits, and they are also currently marked down in certain colors.

If you’re looking for summer sleepwear, I’ve been wearing Soma’s Cool Nights pajamas and chemises for a couple of years, and find them to be very comfortable. You can buy a Short PJ set or mix and match tops and bottoms. I like the V-neck Sleep Cami which has a built-in shelf bra, and the matching Cropped Pants.

Eby: Bras And Underwear

Don’t forget to update your bras and underwear too! Eby is a lingerie brand (co-founded by actress Sofia Vergara and Renata Black) that provides small loans to women-owned businesses around the world. I’ve been wearing Eby’s bralette and seamless underwear for the past year and will be stocking up during this weekend’s sale. If you tend to forget the basics, like lingerie, Eby actually has a subscription service (which allows you to save up to 40%).

Madewell: Skirts And Rompers

Madewell is offering 25% off everything with the code LONG WEEKEND and is a good place to buy cotton, Tencel, and linen pieces.

I like the simplicity of this Drawstring Romper for weekends and vacations.

If you don’t already have some wide-leg pants, try these Cotton-Linen Pleated Wide-Leg Pants. Pair them with a Whisper Cotton tank. You have 12 colors to choose from and they come in Regular and Plus sizes.

Bloomingdale’s: Day Dresses And Accessories

Bloomingdale’s always has a huge selection of dresses from casual to formal. Some of my favorite dresses from their sale have been their “day” dresses, the ones you’d wear to a brunch, a casual graduation party, a baby shower, etc.

This Smocked Eyelet Midi dress would be fun for brunch, a shower, or a graduation party. I loved the adjustable straps and the flattering V-neck.

If you love the simplicity of Eileen Fisher, take a look at this Cap Sleeve High Low. Wear it loose for ease or cinch it in with a wide belt or chain belt.
