The Must Have Clutch for 2017/2018
Our holiday season was filled with kids’ events and shopping trips. For two months, I relied on my large, carry-all handbag to stay organized. I tossed in coupons, protein bars, a hat, and jewelry and accessories for instant style upgrades . Now that we are almost into the new year, we are starting to receive our save-the-dates for adult-only dinners, cocktail fundraisers, and galas, and I’m ready to kick style up a notch again, as well as carry a lighter load. At this time of year, I usually take advantage of the post-Christmas sales, and find a new party handbag. However, this year I’m ahead of the game, and have two recent purchases that I love. At the end of this post, I’ll include links to similar ones, and as always, I’ve updated my Pinterest boards, so you’ll find more options there.
The Perfect Shaped Clutch
The envelope clutch (literally, shaped like an envelope) is so on-trend, but I don’t like how it bulges when I put my keys inside. It’s also a juggling act to hold a clutch and a drink, and shake hands at a cocktail party. Wristlets are a little more practical, but are usually also flat. My favorite shape, is the box clutch. Here’s one that I have owned for so long, that I don’t actually remember when I bought it! It’s not my favorite style, but is so useful I have not been able to bring myself to give it away.

This season, many of them look exactly like boxes, made in acrylic, with clean lines and sharp edges. This one is my favorite, and fits a small wallet, my keys, lipstick, and my phone.

I also just received this from my Box of Style subscription, and love that is simple, but dramatic. The Winter 2017 box is still available (as of today). It includes some other glamorous goodies, that I’ll feature in future posts, and on my Instagram feed.

Now, for the links that I promised:
At Nordstrom, you’ll find this lace box clutch.
Zara added some graphic lines to their Minaudière.
This gold one from Mango has a removable strap.
Amazon has very inexpensive ones, including this Prime one.
If you’re so inspired, that you must run out a buy one before New Year’s Eve, even Target has a box clutch. Their clutch wallet has rounded edges, but with all that glitter, you might not even notice.
Enjoy party season, and comment below about your favorite party clutches!
