5 Reasons To Love Everlane’s Party Of One Tee Dress
Ever since I wrote my post about The Casual Summer Tee Dress, I’ve been checking out the Everlane’s Party Of One Tee Dress online. When it went on sale, I couldn’t resist. We usually have a busy social calendar at this time of year, and given the pandemic, a lot of our events have become much more casual. I thought this would be the perfect alternative to the usual cocktail and dinner dresses that I wear. Here’s what I love about Everlane’s Party Of One Tee Dress…
1. Flattering Fit-And-Flare Style
T-shirt dress styles range from the tightly fitted “bodycon” dress to the loose fitted swing dress. I find that if you have any extra weight around your middle, the most flattering shape is somewhere between fitted and loose. (A bodycon dress will show every curve and bump, while the volume of a swing dress can make you look wider.)

I’m wearing the size small, which is my usual size in Everlane. It feels just a tiny bit snug on me, but certainly not tight. The A-line shape is quite subtle; just enough to be able to move comfortably. It comes in Sky (the color I am wearing), Black, and Cayenne.
2. The Unique Neckline Shape
The square neckline has made a recent comeback, and most of them are wide and low. Everlane’s Party of One Tee has a smaller, bra-strap friendly square neckline.
Tip: Skip the necklace and wear some statement earrings with this style.
3. Not-Too-Mini Mini Length
If I could stand around and sip cocktails all day, I wouldn’t mind wearing a tiny-mini dress, but as fate would have it, I’m a busy mom! When I have to reach down or reach up for something, I don’t like want to worry about my dress hiking up too much. So I was very skeptical about a mini-dress. My size small measures 36″ from the high point shoulder (where the neckline meets the shoulder seam). For reference, I’m just under 5’4″. Everlane models vary in height and size, so take. a look at their website to see this dress on taller women.
4. Seasonless Mid-Weight Cotton Jersey
This dress is made with 100% cotton jersey and has some weight and structure to it. It won’t cling to your body and it isn’t sheer. It may be a little heavy for the height of summer and too light for a New York winter, but I will get plenty of wear in between. In a future post, I’ll sho you how to style dresses through the fall and winter, but in the meantime, here are some suggestions:
Summer
Add sandals, a bracelet or bangle (this Kate Spade one from Amazon is simple and sweet), and your favorite sunglasses.
Pre-Fall
Add a denim jacket (1) and sneakers (2).
Fall
Wear a trench coat (3) and ankle boots (4).
Winter
Get cozy in a faux fur coat (5), tights and tall boots (6).
5. Generous Cap Sleeves
I generally avoid cap sleeves (super short sleeves) as they tend to highlight the soft and squishy part of my arms. The cap sleeves on this dress are wider which makes them quite flattering.
A Few Cons…
The neckline is small and there is no back zipper, so take off your make up before you take off your dress. I managed to get a few marks on mine while I was changing during a photo shoot.
The Sky color is a little more gray than what I expected (from the image on the Everlane website.) I would have loved it to have been a little more blue.
Do you have a transition dress in your closet?

Such a pretty dress. I hadn’t worn dresses in years but now that mother nature decided she didn’t like me any more, I’m going to start incorporating dresses back into my wardrobe to hopefully cover this watermelon she surgically implanted along my midsection. LOL. I requested a few t-shirt and sweater dresses through stitchfix so we shall see how they work.
Hi Stacey, I’m curious to hear how your t-shirt and sweater dresses work out for you! xo Nipa
