Nice! I like to snuggle into my fuzzy housecoat too on a cold day.

I love blue, so I’m happy to hear it’s the color of the year. I love that plush robe you’re wearing. It’s making me look forward to lounging a bit on Sunday morning. Your tips are all perfect and I really need to remember to light my candles because you’re so right – the Christmassy smells do go away when we take down our dรฉcor and don’t bake or cook as much. It’s really been a mild winter here in north Texas and I’m always ready for summer, but I am enjoying experimenting with layering pieces in my wardrobe, so maybe we could have a few more cold days here and there. Thank you for the podcast suggestions. I listen to a lot of books on my phone while I’m driving and have done a few podcasts but really need to check some of the ones out that you’ve mentioned. I definitely need to check out the article from mindbodygreen to try to keep from doing in any more houseplants :/

Hi Ruth, Happy New Year! The first few weeks have flown by for us especially since our kids are skiers and we’ve been “chasing the snow!” That has meant a lot of time in the car, listening to those podcasts! I’ll try to find some books too. It has been a while since I’ve downloaded one. If you have any suggestions, let me know. xo Nipa

Love the idea of this post! Just reading it seemed to ease my winter blues giving me warm, cozy, fuzzy feelings lol. And I actually really love the color of the year, it may be “classic” but still seems like such a unique shade, I find it a very soothing color ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Amanda, Thanks so much! I’m with you on the color of the year. I’ve read that some designers think that it’s too “safe”, but it’s my absolute favorite color. I suspect I’m going to be doing a lot of shopping this year!!! xo Nipa

  4. I have to say that I really love winter even if my favourite season is autumn, but candles, music, cozy clothes and comfort food are a must when it’s cold outside. As for the colour of the year….I love blue even because it’s a good alternative to black.

Hi Marina, I agree! Black can be so harsh on certain skin tones. xo Nipa

  5. These are really good tips! After the holidays it can be kind of hard to go back to reality!!
