Kitchen, Laundry & Entertainment Essentials In My Daily Routine
Here’s a peek into my daily routine and the kitchen, laundry, and entertainment essentials I use at home. If you’re shopping on Amazon Prime Day, you’ll find that many of these are on sale!

1. Breakfast: Ninja Blender & Smoothie Ingredients
On a school day, I get up at 6.15 am to get my daughter to school. I help her pack lunch, so I usually don’t have time for an elaborate breakfast. My husband is usually in a rush too, so we both make smoothies using our Ninja Professional Blender. We like different ingredients, so we make good use of the two travel cups.

If you’re looking for a Prime Day deal, this Ninja Professional Blender is on sale. It’s similar to ours, but includes a food processor bowl.
A blender makes breakfast so easy that I also bought the Ninja Blast Portable Blender for my son (who has a tiny kitchen in his apartment) and one for me to take on trips.
I put different fruit, vegetables, or nut butters in my smoothies, but I always add these four staples: hemp hearts, chia seeds, flax seeds, and protein powder. I can’t handle much dairy, so it’s often a challenge to hit 30g of protein with vegetarian ingredients. The protein powder and hemp hearts help me get there. And Garden of Eden Protein Powder is one of the only ones I’ve found that doesn’t include monk fruit, stevia, or other sweeteners.
2. Coffee & Collagen
It took some grit and determination, but I finally gave up my coffee-first habit. (My nutrition coach told me that having coffee after breakfast would help with hormone balance, focus, energy, and gut health). I wait until I’ve come back from school drop-off and try to savor my cup instead of gulping it down!
I’m the only coffee drinker in the family, so I often use my Nespresso Pixie, Milk Frother, and Nespresso Original Capsules. I add a splash of half-and-half and a scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. This collagen is unflavored, but it’s not flavorless, so you have to get used to the taste. (A tiny bit of sugar or a sprinkle of cinnamon helps!)

If I’m in the mood for a large cup of coffee, I use a Pour-over Stainless Steel Filter.
Often, I’ll skip the ceramic mug and use this YETI Mug instead. It keeps my coffee hot so I can enjoy it slowly.
3. Clean-up: Dishwashing Products
We cook almost all our meals at home, so we always have a full dishwasher to unload, and a few pots and pans to wash. I’ve tried my share of clean, non-toxic dishwashing detergents, but nothing has worked as well as Dirty Labs Dishwasher Detergent + Booster.
For handwashing, I use this Clean Cult Dish Soap. It doesn’t cut grease the way something like Dawn does, but it’s made from natural ingredients.
And when I accidentally clog the drain (we don’t have a garbage disposal), this cheap little Sink Plunger unclogs it without any nasty chemicals. I wish I’d bought it years ago!
4. Laundry: Detergents & Tools
Most mornings, I also throw in a load of laundry or take care of handwash items. I’ve switched our laundry detergent to Dirty Labs too. The detergent is concentrated, so the bottles are compact. I’ve tried many plastic-free laundry detergents, and so many of them didn’t clean well or remove odors. Dirty Labs seems to have it figured out.

Once a month, I use these Glory Days Washing Machine Cleaner tabs to clean my machine. I often use them after washing our dog’s bedding and towels, which seem to leave a musty smell in the machine. These tabs get rid of the smell.
For items that need to be handwashed, I use this Handwash Detergent and then leave them to dry on this OXO Sweater Dryer. It collapses for storage, but I use mine so often I never really put it away.
And though I own an iron and ironing board, I almost always use a steamer instead. I have a smaller version of this Conair Steamer.
5. At-Home Workout: Yoga Mat, Foam Rollers & Weights
After I take care of chores, I often head to the alcove in my bedroom to do a yoga, Pilates, or weight training session. I’m not following any specific program; I often follow YouTube videos based on what my body tells me it needs.
My sons gave me these wrist weights and ankle weights for my birthday last year, and I also bought these basic hand weights too.
I’ve used this Maduka Yoga Mat for over ten years. It was a little slippery at first but became more “grippy” as I used it.
I also have this OPTP Lo Rox Complete Set. These foam rollers and massage balls have become essentials in my daily workout routine, especially as I get older. They help to soothe the daily aches and pains so that I can do more strenuous workouts!
6. Blogging: With A Beverage
I usually spend the morning writing blog posts or taking photos depending on the weather, often with a cup of tea. My current favorites are Organic Nettle Tea, and this Organic Spicy Chai. Some days, I work on the business and administrative tasks, and other days, I pack up clothes that didn’t work out for me to return to stores or donate.
7. Lunch & Pup Walk
I usually eat lunch around noon; often eggs from our chickens with leftover vegetables and a piece of toast. Usually, our dog starts whining around then, so I can’t take too long or get too creative. As soon as I’m done, we head out for a walk. If I’m feeling up to it, I wear my Weighted Vest. If we have any kitchen scraps, we stop by the chicken coop to give the chickens a snack.

8. The MoUber
I don’t know if she came up with the term, but an Instagram friend described her afternoon job as MoUbering (mom-Ubering), which pretty much describes my afternoons. I often pick our daughter up from after-school activities and have just an hour or two at home before we head to her dance classes.
I always enjoy a little sweet treat in the afternoon, so I just ordered these BTR Nation Dark Chocolate Cups to eat on the way to dance.
9. Dinner: Stainless Steel Cookware & Bakeware
As soon as I get back from dance drop-off, it’s time to make dinner. I use these TeamFar Stainless Steel Baking Sheets almost every night to roast vegetables or bake cookies. The smaller ones fit into my dishwasher, so it makes cleaning them super easy.

Some of my other favorite pots and pans are this Made In Saucier and this All-Clad Stainless Steel Pan.
I try to use glass containers for storing as much as possible, partly because glass is non-toxic but also because it makes reheating so much easier. I have plenty of these Pyrex Glass Storage Containers and these mason jars.
10. Clean Up: Dishes Again
After dinner, it’s time to clean up again, so I usually put on an audiobook or podcast and plug in my Air Pods. I then pick up my daughter from her dance classes and head to bed as soon as we get home. Finally, I do a little reading on my Kindle before I fall asleep. The days always seem to fly by!
