(Viscose can be made from other plants too, like eucalyptus, beech pine, and sugar cane) Bamboo as a plant is eco-friendly. It grows quickly without pesticides, fertilizers, or large quantities of water. But bamboo viscose may or may not be sustainable, depending on the manufacturing technique used to produce it.

Is Bamboo Viscose Good For You?

Bamboo viscose is usually soft, lightweight, breathable, and hypo-allergenic making it an excellent fabric to wear and sleep in. It is also naturally antibacterial repelling mold, mildew, and bacteria.

Bamboo viscose pajamas can range in price depending on the manufacturing. So where you buy them depends on what you want in terms of quality and sustainability. I tried out two different brands, one expensive, and one cheap. Here’s what I found…

Option 1: Cozy Earth Bamboo Viscose Pajamas

If you’re a fan of Oprah’s Favorite Things, you’ve probably heard of Cozy Earth whose products have been on her list for many years. They’re expensive, but they are ethically made pajamas with a 10-year warranty and a 100-night risk-free trial. They’re also machine washable and dryer-friendly. I bought the Short Sleeve Bamboo Pajama Set last year.

How Do Cozy Earth Pajamas Fit?

Cozy Earth pajamas run from sizes XS- XXXL. I bought the size S which is my usual size. The top is a little long on my 5’4″ frame but I like the length of the shorts. It has a loose fit which I really like for sleeping in.

Are They Comfortable?

I love that these pajamas are exceptionally soft, stretchy, and lightweight. They are incredibly comfortable!

Do They Wash Well?

I’ve washed these many times. Occasionally, I let them air dry but usually I can’t wait to wear them again so I put them in the dryer on low. I’ve worn these for a year and they still look like they did when they were new.

Style Options From Cadisi

I bought the same short-sleeved button front and shorts style in the Cadisi pajamas as I did with Cozy Earth. The Cadisi sleepwear has a small rhinestone logo that looks a little cheap, but it is fairly small.

How Do Cadisi Pajamas Fit?

Cadisi pajamas are available in sizes S-XL. I bought the Cadisi pajamas in my usual size small, and they are a little more snug than the Cozy Earth set.

Are They Comfortable?

The Cadisi pajamas are also soft, stretchy, and lightweight, however, the fabric feels thinner and less plush than the Cozy Earth ones.

Are they Bamboo Viscose?

The description of the Cadisi pajamas on the Amazon website is a bit confusing. The content is supposedly 93% viscose/ 7% spandex. Viscose is more of a process than a fiber and can come from beech, spruce, eucalyptus, or bamboo. It is also described as modal which comes from beech, and cotton which comes from the cotton plant. So I’m not 100% sure if this is bamboo viscose, but one of the questions answered by the seller says that it is.

Do they Wash Well?

I also machine-washed these pajamas and let them air dry. I was worried that it would shrink or stretch out or the color would bleed but so far they look good!
