3 Spring Casual Outfits For 2021
Are you looking for some fresh new casual outfits for Spring 2021? After donating two bins of clothing that just didn’t fit my body, lifestyle, or personal style, I needed a few new outfit formulas for spring. Here are some of my favorite, go-to casual spring outfits, and the clothes I donated to make room for them!

Outfit 1: Crop Flare Jeans + Collarless Blouse + Mules

Donated: Low Rise Skinny Jeans
I don’t recommend giving away all of your skinny jeans, but if you have any extra weight around your waist, low-rise jeans will create that unflattering muffin-top look. I replaced my low-rise jeans with these 9โ Demi-Boot Crop Jeans from J.Crew. I’m petite, so they sit right at my belly button, hugging in my extra inches!
The waistband has stretched a bit after a few days of wearing these, so keep that in mind when you pick your size. (I sized up t0 a 27 but suspect that my usual 26 would have been a better fit).
If you’re only going to buy one pair of jeans for your spring casual outfits in 2021, make it a pair of relaxed jeans. We’ve been wearing skinny jeans and leggings for a while now, so anything relaxed looks modern and chic. If you need help figuring out the right jeans for you, take a look at my post: How To Buy The Perfect Jeans.
Donated: Bell-Sleeved Blouses
I also gave away a couple of bell-sleeved blouses, as they just looked dated, and aren’t very practical. I replaced them with this Washable Silk Shirt in Cool Zebra from Banana Republic. I love that I can tuck this shirt in or wear it as a tunic. Itโs somewhere between soft and crisp, so I find it to be more comfortable than a cotton shirt.
If you live somewhere warmer, take a look at their sleeveless zebra print top.
My mules are also from Banana Republic, and were on clearance, so if you can’t find your size, take a look at these cute quilted mules from DSW: Vince Camuto Femlin Mule.
Outfit 2: Button-Front Skirt + Floral Blouse + Sandals

Donated: Denim Mini Skirt
The younger, slimmer me used to live in denim mini skirts, but now I’m, opting for a slightly longer causal skirt. This is the button-front skirt in stretch linen from J.Crew in navy is a nice, lightweight substitute for denim. Keep it buttoned up for a slim pencil shape, or undo a few buttons to give yourself room on days you’ll be doing a lot of walking.
Donated: Blouses In Unflattering Colors
Every now and then I take a chance on a trendy color, even when I know it doesn’t work for my complexion. Let me tell you from experience, it’s not worth it! If you love a color that you know doesn’t suit you, wear it in a print, an accessory, or something that is away from your face.
My ruffle-sleeved blouse is a style from last year, but LOFT’s Garden Smocked Split Neck Shell is similar. I also love this J.Crew Puff-Sleeve Top if you prefer sleeves.
For shoes, I did try this skirt on with my navy wedge espadrilles but the below-the-knee length looked a little frumpy on my petite frame. The nude heels (an old style from Ann Taylor) helped to elongate my legs.
Outfit 3: Shirt dress + Sandals
One of the easiest spring casual outfits for 2021 is a shirt dress with slip-on sandals. A shirt dress is a classic and looks great on most body types. This Oxford Cotton A-line Shirtdress is from J.Crew and has a little more shape than most shirt dresses I have seen.
I love that itโs collarless as it gives it a more casual vibe. It actually had panels so it hugs in at the waist and out at the skirt, perfect for a curvy look. I also like that the hem is straight. Most shirt dresses look like elongated button down shirts, which makes feel like I just forgot to wear my pants!
I’m wearing a size 4, but think I’m going to return it and try a size 2.
If you prefer the collar youโll love the Classic-fit chambray shirt dress. And if you want something more feminine, take a look at their Belted shirtdress in Liberty ยฎ Danjo floral.

Donated: Outdated Print Dresses
I actually donated quite a few dresses. After not wearing them for the past year, I realized that I really didn’t miss them. (Hint: if you’re not sure about donating something, put it in storage until the beginning of the appropriate season, and look at it again with a new perspective. Sometimes we just get attached to what we see even if it doesn’t serve a purpose).
My shoes are an old style from L.K. Bennett but here are a few similr options that are available now:
Vionicโ s Amy Wedge Espadrille Sandal
Tony Pons Valencia Wrap Around Espadrille Wedge sandals
Uggs Yarrow Espadrille Wedge for open toe sandal.
There you have it; 3 spring casual outfit formulas that I’ll be wearing in 2021. Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!

How nice to meet you via Jessica. Love that front button skirt. Hoe to see you on my Fancy Friday link up party.
Hi Nancy, Nice to meet you too! Xo Nipa
These are all pretty outfits and my favorite is look #2! I havenโt quite done a closet clean out yet but I am probably due. I know that a low rise jeans isnโt for me but I will have to try a pair of relaxed ones at some point.

Hi Maureen, It took me a few weeks to get used to relaxed jeans, but I love that theyโre comfortable and give me more styling options. I highly recommend a closet clean. It feels so good when youโre done! Xo Nipa
I love that denim skirt! I have getting better at finding what is flattering and donated what doesn’t work on me. Definitely no low rise jeans for me!
